Zach joined Theatre Adventure in 2010. He has loved each of the thirty plus performances he has been part of, but says that 2019’s Raising our Voices is his favorite. His favorite character to play was the Handsome Prince because he liked his costume and loved the dancing. His favorite things about being a part of Theatre Adventure are dressing up in costumes and performing in front of a live audience. His love of live theater is obvious when you see Zach perform on stage! Zach’s support professional, Melody, states that “Theater has enhanced Zach’s life by giving him something to look forward to every week. It’s solid and predictable and he likes that. It is something all his own and boy does Zach like an audience!!!”
Outside of theater Zach lives a very full life. He loves going out to eat, and going on car rides with his mom and their friends Christine and John. Zach plays basketball with Special Olympics. He has been with his support professional, Melody Ellis, for twenty-one years and they have been on many adventures together.
In summer they typically vacation in Wells Maine and Zach loves to eat seafood and take long walks on the beach. They also travel north to Island Pond and go for rides, float in the water, and look for moose. They enjoy trail riding on four wheelers, attending Fairs, boating, taking four-mile walks, snowshoeing, tractor rides, and rides in the fire truck.
Zach is an Assistant Librarian at the Dummerston Grange Luncheons, helping to pick up books from the Lydia Taft Library and take them to the Grange to set up so that Seniors can check out books. Melody and Zach also volunteered to do Meals on Wheels for over five years together.
